The book
BOOK
Ronald Jirovec’s poetry covers a wide range of topics, with the main focus on scriptural instruction and wisdom.
Ronald also writes about life, mysteriousness, hard times and testing, adventurous hiking, other people, intellectual and philosophical introspection, comfort, and hope for the future. His work challenges the reader to seek God and discover his plan for them.
VOLUME I
Poems for Praise, Comfort, and Joy
From the first breath of “Ode of a Lass” to the triumphant ascent of “Half Dome Attained,” this inaugural volume establishes the poet’s lifetime odyssey. Trek the Mist Trail as allegory, confront deadly sins, and glimpse the afterlife through rhymed verse that instructs, comforts, and challenges. Whether you seek wisdom, hope, or a spiritual climb, these poems call you to higher ground.
“The Lord has given me a special gift. My life will not purposelessly drift.”

“Poetry is the rope that pulls me up the mountain. Each rhyme, a foothold. Each verse, a glimpse of the High Country.”
VOLUME II
Poems for Praise, Comfort, and Joy
The mystery deepens. Volume II opens with “Woe the Dragon” and its long-awaited answer, “The Enigma Solved,” explaining how one third of heaven fell. Journey through mythological metaphors (Medusa, Antaeus, the Stygian witches), wrestle with philosophical introspection, and walk the wilderness years of waiting. With fifty Latin phrases newly meditated, this volume sharpens discernment and prepares the soul for battle.
The nectar of truth’s fruit I must distill.

VOLUME III
Poems for Praise, Comfort, and Joy
The summit draws near. Volume III returns to the High Country, looking down from the Sierra, heading up the San Luis Obispo way, and making the inevitable return to Half Dome. Here you’ll find elegies for the brave (Cassie Bernall), reflections on the gift of poetry itself, and a final ascent into spiritual warfare. The odyssey concludes not with an ending, but with a promise: “I shall ever be the Lord’s poet in the world.”
