Meet the Author

Ronald Jirovec’s relationship with the written word began as a quiet intrigue during his formative years in Merrill, Wisconsin. This curiosity led him to UW-Stevens Point, where he immersed himself in the study of literature and eventually earned his BS degree. While his academic background provided the technical foundation, it wasn’t until the late eighties that Ronald discovered his innate gift for rhyme. This discovery opened a new creative door, leading to a prolific period of experimentation where many interesting variations in form began to emerge in his work.

A life written in verse & prose

Ronald views his body of work not merely as a collection of poems, but as an adventurous lifetime odyssey. His writing serves as a spiritual map, tracing an ascent through the complexities of scripture and personal struggle.

His inspiration is deeply rooted in the physical world, spanning from the humble, grounded farmlands of Merrill to the majestic, daunting granite face of Half Dome. By capturing these “sublime heights of creation,” his words aim to bridge the gap between the earthly and the eternal.

For Ronald, the act of writing is a tool for clarity rather than an escape. He believes that silence has weight, and he uses his words as a means to carry that weight and make sense of the human experience. Through his verse, he explores the duality of existence, acknowledging the fallenness of the world while simultaneously celebrating its beauty and the eternal hope that pierces through every shadow.

"Come with me now to step into a world of knowledge, and go beyond wisdom with insight."
